Welcome to Poly's World or as I'd like to like to call it

This is an amalgamation of random pieces of visuals that depicts my observations about the world, as it goes by......and also certain life lessons that these experiences taught me.

What we might consider as a dingy workspace, for him it happens to be his world. My encounter with him helped me realise that often we perceive our life as a simple checklist of acquisitions, and keep on running aimlessly, but instead if we find a purpose selfless enough, life would be much more full filling.

Captured in the frame is a carpenter who shifted from one corner of the country to another and stayed there for 22 years. What keeps him going is his sheer will to help his children have a better life and make their own choices, as he couldn't do the same.

Gudhi Padwa is a spring-time festival that marks the traditional new year for Maharashtrians. It is celebrated in and near Maharashtra on the first day of the Chaitra month to mark the beginning of the New year according to the lunisolar Hindu calendar.

It's these traditions that gives an added depth to our identity.....
Due credit needs to be given to these youngsters who have been able to uphold these traditional values in this modern world which exists within the confinements of technology....

This rally was held in one of the main areas of Mumbai (Charni Road) and in the middle of complete chaos managed to get a few.

Let me introduce you to my niece, the bundle of joy who allows me to revisit certain aspects of life from a completely fresh perspective. It's her curiosity and her perseverence that keeps me going at times.

Performance arts, as they say is not for the timid and faint hearted. Personally I,ve been scared all the time. So when I saw her perform for the first time it was a great experience which can not be expressed in any possible combination of words. Watched the entire length of the act through the viewfinder of my camera and was just amazed till the end.

Sindur Khela Literally meaning 'vermillion game', is a Bengali Hindu tradition where women smear each other with sindur on Vijayadashami, the last day of the Durga Puja. On the day of the Vijayadashami after the conclusion of the ritual worship, married Bengali Hindu women apply sindur on the forehead and feet of the goddess and offer sweets to her. Then they put sindur on each other's face and offer sweets to each other

A person without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots and this is a glimpse of a part of my own culture in which I was born and prospered and couldn't be more proud of it..
